when there are two teams and the teams have to score on the opponents net and when they do it counts as one goal and so on you kick the ball into the net without the golie stopping it.
Steve Smith, then of the Edmonton Oilers.
The AIM of the game is to score more goals into your opponent's net resulting in a "win".

Since a goaltender is not in the goal during an empty net scenario, any goals scored into the open net will not count against the goalie's personal statistics. However, any scoring into an empty net will be added to the team's goals against average.

According to statistics I've read, about one in three times that the goalie is pulled, an empty net goal is scored. Extra attacker goals are scored at about 1/3rd that rate (1 in 9 or 10 attempts)

A score is counted by putting the puck in the net, known as a goal. The score is the number of goals scored by each team.
when a team is down by usually 1 goal in the final minutes of the game they occasionally choose to substitute their goalie for an extra attacker on the ice. somewhat like a power play. but with no goalie, the net is empty leaving a wide open chance to get scored on.
The Net Points in NFL Standing represents the PF (points for, or points scored by the team) minus PA (points against, or points scored by opponents on the team). AKA it is how many more points a team has scored than they have let up.
I don't know for sure but Maybe Keith Tkachuk he gets like 10 a year because he is a suck. Ya I am sure you would know that because you let him suck your.... c*ck you loser
It should come as no surprise that the Edmonton Oilers of 1983-84 (the heyday of Gretzky, Messier, Kurri etc) are the highest-scoring team in history. They found the net 446 times.
