Octavio Dotel has played with 13 different franchises, the most out of any MLB player in history. In his career (1999-2013), Dotel played for the New York Mets, Houston Astros, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, Pittsburg Pirates, Los Angeles Dodgers, Colorado Rockies, Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals, and Detroit Tigers.

The record is 4 teams in one season and it's happened at least 9 times that I can find. Ted Gray, Dave Martinez and Dave Kingman have all done it, to name the more prominent ones.
