According to the website hockeyfights.com, Lemieux fought twice during his career. In the 1996 playoffs, he exchanged punches with Todd Krygier of the Washington Capitals. Lemieux attempted to fight with Brad Ference in 2003, but Ference only received a punch and did not return one. In both instances, other players joined in and Lemieux received slashing and instigating penalties and game misconducts. ---- Lemieux had two earlier fights against the Washington Capitals. In 1985, he went toe-to-toe against Bob Carpenter and held his own. In 1987, he went against Bob Gould. That one was ruled a no contest and Lemieux spent the night in GW hospital with a fractured jaw.
