little note first... "Deacon" Jones sometimes used to record 30 sacks a game in the 60's. He should be number one, but here is the official list.

Bruce Smith 200

Reggie White 198

Kevin Greene 160

Chris Doleman 150.5

Michael Strahan 141.5

John Randle 137.5

Richard Dent 137.5

Lawrence Taylor 132.5

Leslie O'Neal 132.5

Rickey Jackson 128

Honorable Mentions:

th, Jason Taylor with 127.5

th, Derrick Thomas with 126.5

Actually, while Deacon Jones was playing, sacks were not an official NFL stat. However, he would have had 180.5 sacks during his career, which would rank third on the all time list. In 1967, Deacon Jones had 26 sacks, and in 1968, he had 24 sacks. Both of these are better than the NFL single season record for sacks, held by Michael Strahan.
