Darryl Dawkins in the 1975 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers out of Maynard Evans High School with the 5th overall pick. A year earlier, Moses Malone became the first high schooler selected when the Utah Stars of the ABA selected him in the third round of the 1974 ABA draft. This is incorrect, the first player drafted into the NBA was Reggie Harding in 1962 by the Detroit Pistons.

According to Wikipedia, Reggie Harding (76ers) was drafted out of high school in 1962. Moses Malone wasn't drafted until 1974, and that was by the ABA Utah Stars.
