The original NFL team in Dallas was the Dallas Texans who played one season, that being 1952. The Texans went 1-11 and had poor fan support, so much so that the owner, Texas millionaire Giles Miller, returned the team to the NFL towards the end of the season and the team played their final 'home' games in Akron, Ohio. After the 1952 season, the NFL awarded the Texans to Carroll Rosenbloom who used the roster to create the Baltimore Colts, who began play in the NFL in 1953.
