Kennedy, Castro and Khrushchev.
There is one Cuban born player in the Baseball Hall of Fame, that being Tony Perez of the 'Big Red Machine' Cincinnati Reds of the 1970s who was born in Camaguey. Other fine players include: 1) Dolf Luque, born in Havana - pitched 20 seasons in the National League (1914-1915 and 1918-1935) and won 154 games. 2) Rafael Palmeiro, born in Havana - played 20 seasons (1986-2005) and hit 569 home runs. He has been linked with performance enhancing substances and, despite his statistics, will never be elected to the Hall of Fame. 3) Luis Tiant, born in Marianao - pitched 19 seasons (1964-1982) and won 229 games. 4) Tony Oliva, born in Pinar del Rio - outfielder for 15 seasons (1962-1976) and had a .304 career batting average.
