Dropkicks have always been a part of the game of Rugby. As far as the NFL is concerned, the dropkick was very popular in the 1920s and early 1930s. The football used to play the game during that time was more rounded at the ends than it is today. The shape of the football was changed in 1934 to make it more pointed at the ends. This was done to improve the passing game but it made dropkicking the ball much more difficult.

There's no fun in playing it safe. Why not try something a little unhinged?
