In terms of innings, many games have been called after five innings, as Major League Baseball rules indicate that a game may end after five innings due to inclement weather. As for the time (in a 9 inning game), on September 28, 1919, the New York Giants defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1 in only 51 minutes.
