Gary Carter was born April 8, 1954 in Culver City, California. He died of cancer on February 16, 2012 at the age of 57. He is best known as a catcher in the MLB for the teams; Montreal Expos (1974-84, 92), New York Mets (1985-89), San Francisco Giants (1990), and Los Angeles Dodgers (1991). Of those 19 years in the MLB his greatest accomplishments to the game include 11 times an All-Star (1975, 79-88), 3 Gold Glove (1980-82), 5 Silver Slugger Awards (1981, 82, 84, 85, 86), World Series championship (1986) and 2003 induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
