On November 22, 1963, William Clay Ford, Sr. purchased a controlling interest in the Detroit Lions.
Before they beat the Washington Redskins 19-14 on September 27, 2009, the Detroit Lions had a 19-game losing streak and their last win was December 23, 2007, when they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20-25 at Ford field in Detroit.
Detroit has hosted two Super Bowls ... one at the Pontiac Silverdome and one at Ford Field. 1) January 24, 1982 - Super Bowl XVI played at the Pontiac Silverdome.
