As of July 2014, Robby Alomar is alive and well. In 2011, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his second year of eligibility.

Considered to be one of the greatest second basemen in baseball history, Alomar played for seven teams during his career: the San Diego Padres (1988-1990); the Toronto Blue Jays (1991-1995); the Baltimore Orioles (1996-1998); the Cleveland Indians (1999-2001); the New York Mets (2002-2003); the Chicago White Sox (2003, 2004); and the Arizona Diamondbacks, 2004).
