August 4, 2001 Cleveland Indians vs Seattle Mariners Being down to the Seattle Mariners, 12-0 in the 4th, and 14-2 in the 6th, the Indians rallied to win, 15-14 in 11 innings. Thus, it became know by Baseball fans as The Impossible Return. The biggest comeback though a game in the ninth inning only was played on 5/23/1901. Cleveland was losing 13-5 in the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, no one on base. They then scored 9 runs to win the game 14-13.

On April 24, 1901, in their first American League game, the Detroit Tigers scored 10 runs in the ninth inning to beat Milwaukee, 14-13.

1901 - Cleveland scored 9 runs with 2 outs in bottom of 9th to win 14-13

1990 - Phillies scored 9 runs in bottom of 9th to win 12-11 vs Dodgers

2010 - Rockies scored 9 runs in bottom of 9th to win 12-9 vs Cardinals

These all tie the record of 9 runs being scored in a 9th inning comeback.

April 21, 1991: Cubs Vs. Pirates. Cubs score 5 in the top of the eleventh but the Pirates score six to win it in the bottom half. Final score: 13-12.

Equaled on September 27, 2011: Dodgers Vs. Diamondbacks. Dodgers score 5 in the top of the tenth but in the bottom half, the Diamondbacks rally for 6 runs for a final score of 7-6.

That was in Game 4 of the 1929 World Series between the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago Cubs. The Cubs took an 8-0 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning only to have the Athletics score 10 runs in the bottom of the 7th and win the game, 10-8.

In their first game EVER, the AL Detroit team (eventually called the Tigers) were down 13 to 4 in the ninth inning, but scored ten runs in the last inning to win. This remains the greatest comeback in MLB history.
