Back in the late 1970's and 1980's the Steeler mascot was called the Terrible Fan. The mascot was a large, tossle cap wearing version of the Myron Cope Official TERRIBLE TOWEL, a Pittsburgh Original. The Terrible Fan Costume has been retired and now resides in the Western PA Sports Museum located in the Heinz History Center.
