The 1991 Indianapolis Colts had a record of one win and fifteen losses, and are the fourth of nine teams to have such a record since the National Football League expanded to sixteen games in 1978.

Of the nine 1-15 teams, however, the 1991 Colts might justifiably claim to be the very worst because:

  1. the win record of their opponents was the poorest of any team going 1-15 or 0-16
  2. their sole win was a very luck 28 to 27 triumph over the New York Jets
  3. they scored only 143 points in sixteen games, with just five scores of double figures. The actually scored a touchdown in only seven games all season!
