As of the 2008 season, the University of Michigan currently has the longest consecutive bowl appearances streak with 33 (1976-2008). Nebraska holds the all time record at 35 (1969-2003). That will stand for at least another 10 years unless Michigan wins every remaining game on their schedule this year, and then gets invited to a bowl at 6-6. Very doubtful.
The Manning brothers will become the 4th set of brothers to play in the Super Bowl for different teams in consecutive years. Willie Richardson played for the Colts in the 1969 Super Bowl while his brother Gloster played for the Chiefs in the 1970 Super Bowl. Bubba Smith played for the Colts in the 1971 game while his brother Tody played for the Cowboys in the 1972 game. Matt Bahr played for the Steelers in the 1980 game while his brother Chris played for the Raiders in the 1981 game.
