This is incorrect. Gene Conley played for both the Celtics and Red Sox, winning 3 championships with the Celtics. Chuck Connors played for the Celtics, as well as the Chicago Cubs and Brooklyn Dodgers. He did not play for the Red Sox.

∙ 12y agoProbably the most famous Basketball star to play for both teams involved in the NBA's No. 1 rivalry was Shaquille O'Neal. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1996 to 1997 and ended his career with the Boston Celtics during the 2010-2011 season. Another well-known alumnus of both teams is Don Nelson, who played for Los Angeles from 1963 to 1965 and for Boston from 1964 to 1976.
Others who played for both teams include: Charlie Scott, Fred Roberts, Joe Kleine, Brian Shaw, Rick Fox, Bob McAdoo, Gary Payton, Travis Knight, Derek Strong, Jumaine Jones, Chris Mihm and Chucky Atkins.
