Eddie Clarence Murray was the American League Rookie Of the Year (ROY) in 1977. He was selected to the American League All-Star team in 1978, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, and the National League All-Star team in 1991. He was Inducted into the Hall of Fame by BBWAA (writers) as Player in 2003 with (423/496 ballots).
He had a 21 year career with 3 Gold Glove Awards and six top ten finishes in the voting for MVP. When he retired Eddie Murray was only the third player to have collected both 3,000 hits (3255) and 500 home runs (504). He also set records for games played and for Put Out Assists as a first baseman. He was one of the best switch hitters in the game who hit for both power and for average. He was a member of the World Champion Baltimore Orioles in 1983.
