"America's Team" is a nickname/marketing gimmick. It doesn't actually MEAN anything, and certainly is not an "official" title.

It's probably possible to make a justification for (your favorite team name here) to be considered "America's Team" instead of the Cowboys. A few off the top of my head:

The Steelers have won more Super Bowls than any other team.

The Chiefs are located closer to the physical center of the country (well, if you don't count Alaska and Hawaii) than any other NFL team.

If you DO count Alaska and Hawaii, then make it the Broncos.

The Patriots' colors are red, white and blue. Also: "Patriots." And their logo is a guy in a colonial outfit.

And so forth.

In 1970 NFL Draft did the Chicago Bears lose a coin toss for the number one overall choice?

Yes. The Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers tied at 1-13 for the worst record in the 1969 NFL season. There being no tie breakers in place during the time, the tie was broken by a toss of the coin. Bears executive Ed McCaskey called the toss incorrectly giving the Steelers the #1 overall choice and the Bears the #2 overall choice. The Steelers selected Terry Bradshaw #1 and the Bears traded the #2 to the Packers. Ironically, had there been tie breakers in place at the time, the Steelers would have still received the #1 choice as the Bears only victory in the 1969 season came over the Steelers.

How did the Pittsburgh Steelers get their name steelers?

Because they represent the steel mills in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is famous for its steel mills. When the Steelers entered the NFL in 1933 they were known as the Pirates. A contest was held by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 1940 to rename the team and Steelers was chosen. This may have had a lot to do with the large steel industry located in Pittsburgh and its surrounding area. Yes, the choice of the Steelers name is related to the steel industry. In fact the Steelers logo is actually the Steel Logo created in 1959 to help identify products made of steel. The three star like shapes represent the raw materials used to make steel. Those materials include iron ore, coal, and limestone. See Web Links for an image of the "Steel Trademark" See Web Links for more information on Pittsburgh and the steel industry
