Tsar Nicholas was not part of the White army forces, because Nicholas was under arrest by the Bolsheviks and unable to command or even be part of the civil war on the White side. Some, but not all of the White forces were in favor of restoring the Tsar to the throne. A large part of the White forces simply wanted to depose the Bolsheviks and take over the country themselves rather than put the Tsar back on the throne.

In addition, Nicholas II was murdered in July 1918 but the civil war continued at least until 1920. Being dead for most of the Civil War, he could not have been part of it.

How did Russian Civil War begin?

It began when a few groups in Russia decided to try out communism, and then they were called the Red Army. The White Army was the group of people that were still either loyal to the Tsar, or they opposed Communism. It really broke out when the Red Army assassinated Tsar Nicholas, his wife Alexandra, their daughters Olga, Tatiana, Marie, and Anastasia, as well as their son Alexei and some of their friends and faithful servants, who were all imprisoned in the Ipatiev house. Then, of course, people went crazy, one party against another, with the peasants all over Russia playing a large part.

Who wanted to remove Tsar Nicholas II from power?

Tsar Nicholas had started a war with Germany that he then lost, which often in history has caused the downfall of the regime responsible. And Nicholas was held directly responsible, since starting it had been his personal decision and because he had been foolish enough to assume actual supreme command over the army, so the blame for the defeats fell directly on him.Plus, the Germans as a part of their war policy had decided to destabilise Russia from within by encouraging and allowing Lenin to travel from Zwitserland where he lived to Russia in order to stir up trouble among the Russian troops and proletariat. Which he did, very succesfully.

What is the significance of nicholas ii?

Tsar Nicholas II was the final Tsar of Russia. He lead the once grand Romanov family into the ground with his horrid leadership skills. he was hated by the Russian people, and was overthrown by the Provisional Government that lead to the Bolshevik Revolution, aka the Russian Revolution. The government of Russia at this point switched from Monarchy to Communism under the Bolsheviks.

In revolution who were white Russians red Russians?

the reds- the Bolsheviks the whites- a broad term applied to any anti Bolshevik group. The whites were made up of * Mensheviks * Socialist Revolutionaries * Supporters of the Tsar * Landlords and capitalists who had lost money due to the revolution * the Czech legion (these were paid soldiers) the whites were also supported by USA, Japan, France and Britain, who wanted to crush Communism as they were worrried about it spreading to their countries. Hope that helps!

Who executed tsar and his family in 1918?

Almost certainly Vladimir Lenin. Mikhail Kudrin, as part of a detail of men under the command of Yakov Yurovsky, is generally believed to have fired the shot that actually killed Tsar Nicholas II. Yurovsky fired the first shot after reading the Tsar his death sentence. Then Kudrin, Petr Ermakov and Pavel Medvedev, at the very least, also shot him even though they had been assigned other family members to shoot. Lenin had given his anonymous approval after the local Cheka demanded the execution and the Czechoslovak Legion in the civil war was close to capturing Ekaterinberg and the Tsar. Yakov Sverdlov is believed to have set everything up.
