The Dallas Cowboys have had three Super Bowl quarterbacks:Craig Morton (Super Bowl V).Roger Staubach (Super Bowls VI, X, XII and XIII).Troy Aikman (Super Bowls XXVII, XXVIII and XXX).
[According to pro-football-reference.com...] Drew Bledso started 6 games, and the team was 3-3. Tony Romo started 10 games, and the team was 6-4. ----------
Yes, it is Tony Romo.
No. Romo is a more accurate and better passer. Broke almost all records set by Troy Aikman and holds the second highest passer rating in the NFL. More experienced, too. A superbowl victory away from being the best Cowboy qb. Although, Cam Newton has potential to be better than Romo.
Quarterback
Romo
Just an opinion, of course:Probably the only thing "wrong" with Tony Romo is unrealistic expectations.Remember Dallas' long string of quarterback disasters, which Drew Bledsoe was supposed to cure. When he flamed out and Romo came in, "salvaged the season" and got the Cowboys into the playoffs, Dallas fans and the media alike were all too quick to proclaim him the next great Cowboys quarterback; a Dandy Don, Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman all rolled into one. The result was instant sports superstardom and ultra-high hopes.Reality check: Tony plays like a 3rd-year starter, which is exactly what he is. Good but not yet great, he sometimes gets the yips and chokes under pressure. Joe Buck asked Troy Aikman (during the Dallas-Denver game in Week 4) how things went for him in his third year - Troy's answer put Romo's play in truer perspective. Romo doesn't have the likes of a Michael Irvin or Emmit Smith to give the ball to, either. Given time, Tony Romo might be a hall-of-famer...some folks just tried to buy him a ticket to Canton a little too early.
Actually, it took the Dallas Cowboys seven seasons to find a fulltime replacement for Troy Aikman. Until they settled on Tony Romo during the 2006 season, the Cowboys used numerous players at quarterback, including Anthony Wright, Randall Cunningham, Clint Stoerner, Quincy Carter, Ryan Leaf, Chad Hutchinson, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Henson and Drew Bledsoe.
