London 2012

Beijing was a masterpiece, no doubt, but one cannot deny that London was the better Olympics. Everything about Beijing screamed "we are being forced to do this!" whilst London gave a sense of freedom and joy. They did what they could on a budget more than half the size of Beijing, with much less resources and the world at its feet, watching every detail, weighing every second of the games against that of Beijing's But London did something better, it decided not to compete with Beijing at all and staged what it wanted, it stuck a giant middle finger to all of China's efforts and bought us some fun for once, some genuine smiles, no miming, no miserable faces, it truly was the peoples games and it did its country proud!
