Just one, Ernie Stauntner's #70. The Steelers decided during the 1970's that they had so many great players they couldn't afford to retire so many. It is generally understood however that you can't wear 12, 32, 47, 52, 58, 59 or 75 though.
The Rooney Family (controlling ownership) and John Stallworth (former Steeler great) currently own the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is still the Rooney family. Dan Rooney (Chairman) is the current owner. He has given much control of the franchise to his son Art Rooney II (President). Others, such as Jim Haslam III, Thomas Tull, Bruce Rauner, the Varischetti family, the Paul family along with John Stallworth are Steelers investors. As of April, 2008 Dan Rooney is the chairman and owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His father, Art, founded the Steelers.
There is no listing of a Max Mickey on the Steelers all-time roster as a starter. Max Mickey was obtained by the Steelers in 1952 as a rookie out of Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He was listed as a guard, but was also a kicker. He didn't make the cut in the end but had plenty of amazing stories to tell. He was my great uncle. Click on the link below for more information.
Sean Payton for the Saints and Jim Caldwell for the Colts. No... Mike McCarthy for the Green Bay Packers and The Honorable Coach Mike Tomlin for the Great Pittsburgh Steelers!
