AnswerIn the late 19th and early 20th centuries, there were no divisions at all. At that time, Yale was on the same level as all other teams. Perhaps, the division here should be from the point the collegiate divisions were put in place, or from date that would be fitting to indicate "modern day" College Football and that could go back some 80 to 90 years, say 1920.

Now 1920-30 seems to barely fit into the term "modern day", but by that time most of today's college teams had been formed and th game, itself, had taken the basic shape it has today. Many of the leagues were formed by then, Knute Rockne and Notre dame had introduced the forward pass to the football world and some of the early immortal teams and players existed.

The first division of schools was basically major and small college teams, Division 1-A was introduced more recently, but I do not know when. It happened since 1950.

But, technically, the rankings for the teams listed above in the 1-A category for modern day records would be:
