For starters, in the five thousand-plus years since Bowling was invented, it has moved from an outdoor sport to an indoor one. The number of pins has been standardized, as have their weight and distance from the foul line. The dimensions of the lane, and the size and allowable weight of the bowling ball has also been fixed.
In more recent times, technology has improved the bowling pin (plastic is both bouncier and more durable than wood), the bowling equipment (automatic pinspotters mean that pin boys no longer have to risk injury to set up pins), the lane (urethane has replaced wood, and is less prone to warping), and the ball (with more aggressive surfaces, and asymmetrical [unbalanced] cores designed to take advantage of physical laws like gyroscopic motion to deliver a bigger and harder hook).

Bombs have changed so much over 60 years. Atomic bombs are much more powerful than there WW2 counterparts. Smart bombs and tracking bombs are also a new powerful addition.
The actual physical continents have not changed much since Roman times; continental drift is a very slow process. The Classical world did not have a clear concept of continents since so much of the world was unknown to them, but parts of Africa, Asia and Europe were known to them, and the Romans, under Greek influence, used those names for those regions.

There does not appear to be any documentation that points to the very first tournament bowled in any country. My guess is that the first tournament didn't start too much later than when the sport was invented.

It typically takes about 110-130 Newtons of force to knock over a standard 15-inch-tall bowling pin. This force can vary depending on factors such as the weight of the bowling ball and the angle at which it strikes the pin.
A team in bowling can be as few as two bowlers, but could have usually as much as 5.
it has changed greatly since it first began. in fact i do figure skating myself and i was searching to see what people thought about it. i think that more people should care about this. i know that the competition of it has change a huge amount. i have asked Olympic skaters what the thought about this and they all agreed that the competition increases every year.
