There is no concrete answer to your answer because a free agent can be a player that is cut from a team or a player whose contract with a team has expired. Free agents who are cut from a team generally make around the league minimum, which for rookies is $285,000 as of the 2007 season. A free agent that has made the Pro Bowl several times and whose contract has expired will make millions.

Between £60,000 a week to £3,000,000 a year
Wayne Rooney earns about £250,000 a WEEK!!! Which is too much. And if someone would want to buy Cristiniano Ronaldo from Real Madrid they will have to pay £1 billion. Which is shoking.
The average NFL salary in 2006 was $1.4 million. The Falcons had the highest payroll at $110 million, the Bills the lowest at $60 million.
