In a high percentage of white society they paid to see white Baseball players, but when Hank Aaron played in the small home game towns Baseball Managers started to stand up and take notice. With every home run Aaron made and when he signed with the Braves more white people came to the games and he received over 90,000 fan letters from both black and white alike and he scored home run hits just under Babe Ruth's home run scores. Hank Aaron in his Autobiography in 1974 states that he was young and didn't understand about the deals the Managers of baseball leagues made even though his father had a lawyer go over the contract with the Brave's Manager. Hank was paid $110,000, but, like the Giants (with a little more money) he wouldn't receive bonus' there or with the Braves. He stated that when he had ended his baseball career and when all was said and done he got a cardboard suitcase and Syd Polock pocketed the $10,000 remaining.
