You call (555) it's-over, it rings then picks up and someone screams until you hear a gunshot and the line goes dead.
In my opinion, Bill Russell would be fairly dominant, but not one of the most dominating players. With skilled players like Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Dwight Howard, Russell would not be as dominant but still effective. Come on...that's like asking if The Beatles would be able to get any concert gigs if they were around today. Bill Russell understood the dynamics of TEAMWORK better than any athlete who ever lived. He had the greatest impact on the game of basketball than anyone who ever played. He is the reason for the term "Celtics mystique." Boston never came close to winning a championship before The Great Man arrived (begining in the 1956-'57 season) and the were virtually unbeatable (eight championships in a row, 11 in 13 years) during Emperor Russell's reign. The year after Mr. Russell retired, the Celtics failed to make the playoffs. Bill Russell is still light years ahead of anyone. No one has come along to even come close to him defensively, and no one ever will. Could Bill Russell dominate the NBA today? Could Picasso sell his paintings today? Beethoven compose ? COME ON!!
