According to the Baseball Almanac, in 2006 there were 978 US born players in MLB. That same year there were 399, close to 30% foreign born players. Dominican Republic had the most players, followed by Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, Cuba and Japan.

way to many. i mean you got players from like Mexico and central America and if you ask me it's just too much.

On Opening Day in 2013, each of the thirty teams had 25 men on their roster. Of these 750 players, 241 were born outside the U.S. Whether this is "too many" (the previous poster is too ignorant to know the difference between 'to' and 'too') depends on your definition of the term. If Baseball is a pure meritocracy, then the amount is (clearly) just right -- after all, don't you want your team to hire the best players? Or is it better to hire the second-best players and lose, simply to maintain the "correct" number of US-born players?

it depends first on how many players are on a team and then secondly where they were born. so i would recommend going to all 30 different teams websites and going to their rosters and looking under birthplace/residence.

hope this helps!! :)

Who was the second person inducted into the baseball hall of fame?

Jackie Robinson, who played for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1947 to 1956, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 1962 -- his first year of eligibility in 1962. Interestingly, the great Cleveland Indians pitcher Bob Feller was inducted at the same time. Feller had been critical of Robinson through the years and once said that the Dodgers great had "football shoulders and couldn't hit an inside pitch to save his neck."
