An 18 year old in MLB is a very, very rare occurrence nowadays what with players playing College Baseball and the levels of minor league ball that a player can start at. In the last 20 seasons (1991-2010), only 1 player has played in an MLB game at the age of 18 ... that being Alex Rodriguez of the 1994 Seattle Mariners who was 18 years, 11 months, 12 days old when he debuted (born 7/27/1975 and debuted 7/8/1994).

There have been a few 19 year olds to play in an MLB game in the past 20 years, the last being Justin Upton for the 2007 Arizona Diamondbacks. Others include Andruw Jones, Adrian Beltre, Ivan Rodriguez, Todd Van Poppel, Edgar Rentaria, Wilson Betemit, B.J. Upton, Jose Reyes, and Felix Hernandez.
