VERY HARD. It is known that the chances of being drafted by the NBA are about 1 in 16,000. You pretty much have to be the star player for your state high school or college. If that wasn't hard enough, the chances of being a starter are very hard because you have to be extremely, extremely, skilled in Basketball and that means delivering stats. This means putting up lots of points, rebounds, and assists among other areas for each game.

The NBA is extremely hard to get into. Let's put it this way- there are about 15 kids on a high school team. About 1 player out of 8 high schools in a very populated area like California (1/120 kids) will make it into College Basketball. There are about 12 players on an average college team and around 200 colleges in division 1 basketball. That makes about 2400 kids in total. There are only 60 spots in the NBA draft, so the chances you will make it from high school to college basketball is less than .0005%, and the chances you will make it from college to the NBA is about 2.5%. So, the odds are VERY SLIM.
