Sports sociology is essential as it studies the relationship between sports and society, helping us understand how sports reflect and influence societal values, norms, and structures. It also sheds light on issues like social inequalities, discrimination, and power dynamics within the sports world, contributing to a critical analysis of sports and its impact on people's lives. Through sports sociology, we can gain insights into how sports can be a tool for social change and contribute to building more inclusive and equitable societies.
