To iceskate: First, when you get on the ice, you HOLD ON TO THE RAIL! Once you've done that, slant both of your feet towards you. Just a little. If you don't you may fall either way: left.right.forwards.backwards. I usually just glide! If you (are a right handed; i am sooooo sorry if you are left handed because this stuff may not help!) push off with you're left foot, it will be way easier to glide.
Beginners: Get on the ice. it may seem A LOT more slipperier than it seems! It was for me on my first time! Anyway, PUT BOTH HANDS ON THE RAIL! After you are settled, continue, push off with your left foot. If you are a first timer, or isn't that good, it may be a little choppy if you kind of march, but that is one of the most important keys to getting use to skating.
So lets review:
1. Get on the ice
2.march IN PLACE
3.push off with left foot
4. lift your hand off, but stay close
5. make sure NO ONE IS AROUND TO CRASH INTO YOU, and glide to the middle; with your hand/ arms straight out to balance
