Danny Heater set the national high school record for most points scored in a Basketball game with 135 points on Jan. 26, 1960. Playing for Burnsville, West Virginia, they defeated Widen 173-43. Lisa Leslie of Inglewood Morningside, California accomplished a similar feat, scoring 101 points in the first half against South Torrance High School (Calif). South Torrance refused to come out of the locker room to play the second half of the game.
