Other than lightning and extreme weather, there is little that will prevent an NFL game from being played. Snow, ice and rain are quite common elements in outdoor NFL games. (In fact, the 1967 championship game is affectionately referred to as the Ice Bowl.) In such conditions, stadium crews work hard to keep the field as playable as possible. This includes ensuring all major yard lines are visible.
