The Quebec Nordiques never won any Stanly Cups, however, a Quebec based team, the Quebec Bulldogs won the Cup four times in two years during the challenge era. Two of those wins were in March of 1912 and two were in March of 1913. Both times they won the Cup in the NHA championship series and then defended their win less than a week later, the first time against a Moncton, New Brunswick Team, and the second against a Sydney, British Columbia team.
The Nordiques joined the NHL in 1979, during its expansion move to capture the WHA market, however, in the summer of 1995, they were sold to Colorado. They were already on the way up at the time, winning their first Stanley Cup as the Colorado Avalanche in 1996. A second Cup followed in 2001.
