No, he did not fight in any way. He was living in exile in Switzerland at the beginning of the war. When he returned to Russia in April 1917, he agitated against the Russian Provisional Government and overthrew it. Afterwards he ended Russia's involvement in the war by entering into the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk.
