In 1941, Joltin' Joe had 607 plate appearances and struck out only 13 times while compiling a .357 batting average, socking 30 home runs and driving in 125 runs leading the Yankees to a World Championship by beating the Brooklyn Dodgers four games to one in the World Series. That same year, Ted Williams of the Boston Red Sox became the last player in the Major Leagues to hit over .400, batting .406 with a league leading 37 home runs, however, DiMaggio won the league's Most Valuable Player award.

Also, in 1941 Jolt'n Joe drew 72 walks. They were not pitching around him that year.

Joe also sat out most of August with an injury, despite that he had 125 RBI's.
