The ancient Olympics influence the modern day Olympics because they are still in our lives. We wouldn't have all the sports we have today if it wasn't for the ancient times.
All the contestants would compete for an Olympic medal !
The difference between modern and ancient olympics is the technology that was used. Ancient olympics used olden day technology or none at all. No high quality equipment was available and each athlete did not have spikes, skins, leotards, and fancy goggles. In contrast, modern day olympians have all this which effects their performance in the pool, track, field or stadium. Also, modern olympics have cameras and technology that enables the whole world to watch and cheer their country on. Hope this helps xo
In the modern Olympics, there are five forms of fighting events: wrestling (both Greco-Roman and freestyle), boxing, fencing, judo and taekwondo. Most (if not all) of these have divisions for weight class and both male and female competitors. The ancient Olympics lacked most of these, having only boxing, wrestling, and pankrion, a primitive form of martial arts that combined the two sports. Pankrion had few rules- basically only eye gouging and biting were prohibited.
Modern Olympics allow females to compete, they are not nude, and every country is allowed to compete. There is most likely more info, but this is all I know :) Glad to help!
They didn't. The modern Olympics was restarted in the late 1800's and not directly linked to the ancient Olympics at all.

Good Question! Keep up the good work. look at all the sites that you can find with the answer. Keep trying.
In ancient times, no. But in today's world, definitely. There are events for women to compete in in ALL olympic events, from hockey to pole-jumping.
The ancient Olympics were used as a way to avoid war when it came to dividing up territory. The modern Olympics is done to bring together the nations in peace and unity even though we all know it's so that we can have pride in our nation for kicking the crap out of everyone else.
Not in all events. There were some events that had women competitors. Married women weren't allowed to spectate because the men in the Olympics were entirely nude. The penalty could be a harsh as death.
