Menstral cycles have nothing to do with sexual orientation. Periods are often irregular during the first few years. If you are in your 20s and your period is still irregular you might want to speak with a doctor.
If you have started your periods that's fine you haven't got regular cycle, but if its been a long time ask someone or go to your gp.
I am not sure but this just happened to me. I have had an IUD (Mirena) for 4 years and had not been having any periods. Recently, I lost almost 40 lbs and now I am having a regular period.
If you have regular periods then 5-6 weeks is too long since your last period. If you are 16 years old, you may be experiencing irregular periods. It happens.

This probably isn't being pregnent, if you are new to periods it is more then likely you're not regular yet but if you have had you're period over 2 years it could just be plain cramps but if it continue's and you're still worried I suggest you visit you're doctor
no it doesnt mean that all the time.some people have regular periods without missing one ever, others may miss a a few months at a time, this is completely normal it may mean that your still a bit too young for periods yet.i know a lot of people with that case, one of my close friends started her periods at the age of 9, then they stopped for a couple years and came back regular..i dont like my periods because they take all the life out of me, but i guess its just a sign that your going into womanhood.i hope this helps,-e
