I have found research online that suggests the use of Vicryl or Vicryl plus dissolving stitches under the skin plus dermabond to close the outer layer can cause a hypersensitive reaction in some patients. Seems that when the stitch material begins to dissolve, the body does not recognize its chemical compounds and attempts to reject them. I have a 2-3" incision on my neck from a cervical disk removal surgery 2 months ago, and one corner of the site just started becoming inflamed last week. This week is an angry red all over, and my surgeon will probably order the stitches removed to alleviate the inflammation. If left untreated, serious infection could result.

monitoring will take place in a recovery room immediately following the surgery and in the patient's hospital room. Patients must take immunosuppression, or anti-rejection, drugs to reduce the risk of rejection
A Stitch for Time was created in 1987.
no,removing stiches around the seventh day should not cause ulcers unless there is an infection on the surgical wound, case in which is not considered an ulcer but a not healed surgical wound due to an infection.
Is a type of stitch that has a combination of running stitch and back stitch .:)
No. In spite of better tissue matching , more organ availabilty , and better surgical techniques and anti-rejection drugs, there are still failures.
An iatrogenic infection is one actually caused by accidental medical actions. Iatrogenic means a complication as a result of treatment. Iatrogenic means that was caused by a doctor, or by a treatment prescribed by a doctor.
