Yes lactation is sign of pregnancy... Lactation can be a sign of pregnancy. Another would be weight gain, missed period, morning sickness (doesn't always occur in all women). The best way would be to take a pregnancy test to make sure.

Lactation is a reflex, actually called the "let down reflex", it is not directly related to being pregnant, it is related to being female. Obviously if one is pregnant you will start to notice changes in the areola color, breast size and tenderness. However the actual let down reflex can occur from over manipulation of the areola and the nipples, thus triggering the let down reflex to occur.

You don't need to be pregnant to have this occur, this can some times occur due to nipple piercings and incorrect aftercare (over manipulation of the areola and the nipples during cleaning). The initial discharge from the nipple is colostrum this is normal with any early lactation and is not yet considered breast milk.

So if you have been involved in some serious activities with the areola and nipples over a period of a few days this could also be your problem. Don't panic, it's normal, just ease off on your activities and the let down will stop, that's why it's called a let down reflex.

Still, I wouldn't base your condition on random symptoms seeing as there are way too many variations, if you think you might be pregnant take a HPT or go into your local Planned Parenthood or OBGYN to find out for sure.

Normally leaking in the breast is not a sign of early pregnancy. Your body doesnt begin to release brest milk until after birth. But there has been rare cases when the mother begins to leak brest milk 2-3 weeks before birth. I would not take this as a sign. But it could mean that you possibly had a miscarrage.
