schweinstieger was born on august 1st, 1984, in kolbermoor, west Germany. he plays currently for bayern munich, the well known German soccer club, and Germany's international team. he is one of the longest serving players in bayern, having been drafted since he was a teen, and in December of 2010 he extended his contract with his club to play with them until 2016.
in the 2010 world cup qualifying rounds, schweinstieger played in 9 out of the 10 German soccer games and contributed 3 goals. so, German fans, lets hear it for schweinstieger! without him we may've not made it to South Africa!
