Our Family comes from a town in Mexico named Ramires, Victoria, state of Durango, Mx. Our family there is second generation Mexican.
The De La Hoya name itself or our ancestors come from Spain, by way of France and we have trakced down our some of our roots back to Germany.
The name actually started off as HOYA. Then changed when some family moved to France to Des Hoya, then Changed again when moved to Spain to De Hoya/De La Hoya, then moved to Mexico.
Our Family roots in Spain are in Malaga and Andalucia.
There was a small town in France at one point named Hoya.
