His Dad is Fijian..Manoa Thompson and his Mum is an Aussie. He has the best of both country's that is a Fijian's flamboyance on the field of play and his choice of sport is definitely from his mother's side. He gets his skill from his fijian father who was also a league player in his time and if it wasn't for Jarryd's inclusion and participation as a Fijian Bati in the World Cup of 08 he would not be the best league player that he is today.He certainly does not look like a Fijian but the way he plays is a Fijian trademark...many thanks and credit should be awarded to his Mother Jodie who stood by Jarryd and whose surname Jarryd uses that is Haynes....and who has always been young Jarryd Hayne's rock.
