Well there are a few types of ways of Surfing. The one everyone usally calls surfin adn refers to is stand up surfing. This even has its catogories such as ,shirt board, longboard, mall, minimal, fiberglass and wood. Then we have Bodyboarding this is where u lay or DK(dropknee) of a soft foam or pp or pe board and ride the wave and poform aeirals. These two types are the main types of surfing in todays society. There is also ,kite surfing, wind surfing ,kneeboarding, body surfing and that's about it.
Go for a surf im sure you will enjoy it.

Another way of surfing is sand surfing, which is sufing in the desert on steep dunes.
I think sand surfing is also surfing along the edge of the water at a beach, which is very fun.

∙ 13y agothe first type of surfing was with the alaia basically a piece of wood carved out with no fin. Then there came the long-board traditional long board size is 9'6''. then there came the gun/big wave board usually 7'6''. then the fish board, very small has a fish shaped tail and 2 fins if it is a retro. the most common board now a day's the short board all the pro's have them they have 3 fins with a center fin or thruster. And the Favorited beginner or fun board the Mal/minimal size's can vary quite a bit but are usually 1'5-2'0'''' bigger than a short board, they are mainly foam or standard eps (fiberglass).
