It seems to have little effect on him today. Lou Ferrignobecame partially deaf after a serious bout of ear infections as a child in Brooklyn, NY. He began training for his professional bodybuilding career while still a teen with a dedication and discipline that belied his age. By his early 20's he was already making his mark as the youngest Mr. Universe and the only bodybuilder to win the title in two consecutive years. He was cast as the green Hulk in the classic TV series, "The Hulk" in the 1970's. Since then, he has continued in his acting career on TV and in movies, and in February 2009 expects the release of his next movie, "I Love You, Man", starring Paul Rudd and a cast of other well known stars. He also has recently had published his autobiography, "My Incredible Life as the Hulk," and is a sought-after motivational speaker. Mr. Ferrigno has been quoted as saying if it weren't for his deafness he probably would not have had the determination to work as hard as he did for his success as a bodybuilder, which in turn has taken him to his current celebrity and career.
