For as many opportunities as Phil has in front of a camera, with a microphone, over his 20 years in the spotlight, for us to NOT KNOW.... that says enough for me to believe he is NOT a Christian.

We Christians are supposed to spread the word of Jesus, not hide it for fear of losing sponsors or offending anyone!

Mark 16:15 -And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

I still love Mickelson, but I have A LOT MORE RESPECT for guys like Aaron Baddeley, Tom Lehman, and Zach Johnson.

Not to mention Aaron Rodgers, DeMarcus Ware, Josh Hamilton, Jason Witten, etc.

Phil and his wife do not claim association with any particular church. They do not attend church regularly, and appear to be freethinkers. Phil is heavily into science and cherishes a dinosaur head which his wife gave him. If he is a christian, he has succeeded in hiding that fact from almost everyone who knows him well. He is almost surely a non-believer, and possibly even atheistic.

Who are the universal church?

I suppose that any church which opens its doors to all people, no matter what their color or creed can be regarded as a Universal Church. Usually a church with such a name can also come about by certain governments who tell the people which church they are to belong to. I understand that this is the aim of a One World Government.

A tax paid to the church?

A church which places a tax upon its members is not a church I would wish to belong to. It would be like saying "If you want to belong to the church you will have to pay to get in". Any monies paid by the congregation for the upkeep of the church or to pay the minister salary is done voluntary and the monies are not set by the church. One may pay a tithe but that is set by the Lord, usually one tenth of members income. To pay a tithe is a blessing, to be taxed is of Satans doing. A regular voluntary contribution is inevitable for the maintenance of the church and the sustenance of those who fully engaged in church works.
