The winery's flagship wine, the Jean Louis Vermeil Cabernet Sauvignon, is named for Vermeil's great-grandfather, Jean Louis Vermeil, and has received considerable critical acclaim. Vermeil's maternal great-grandfather, Garibaldi Iaccheri, was a leading developer of Calistoga in the early 1900's, including the opening of the first hot spring Spa and owning and operating the pre-prohibition Calistoga Wine Company.
