A small oddity perhaps, but in tracing back through my family history in England, I note how very many ale house landlords were named WATKINS. Some licenced and many not. Even the famed Alfred Watkins (See his book on Ley Lines) was in the industry as a traveling promoter of Ale. So I wonder where Mother Watkins ale began that name.
